Utah’s Best Residential Traumatic Brain Injury Rehabilitation Support Facility
Intellegis believes in promoting quality of life and fostering inclusion in communities by operating lively residential programs that emphasize understanding and compassion.
Our name, Intellegis, is a Latin word meaning understanding. We have a caring team of specialized professionals with 18 years of combined experience in the Brain Injury community. We are unique because we strive to understand our resident’s individual needs, and then work with our clinical team to develop a care plan in conjunction with the resident and family member or guardian. The care plan will then be given to our specially trained Life Care Specialists to be implemented with the resident. Life Care Specialists are specifically trained to treat individuals with brain injuries by being certified CNA and Brain Injury Certified Specialists through the Brian Injury Association of America (BIAA).
Intellegis was founded for the TBI population of Utah. We came together to address the unique need for specialized services for people with Acquired and Traumatic Brain Injuries. We respect the fact that persons with a Brain Injury have an enriching life ahead of them, though different from their pre-injury life. We are committed to providing our residents the opportunity to function in daily accord with cognitive, social, physical, spiritual, and community goals to enhance their long and successful journey. Residential Rehabilitation
Our home-like facility gives each resident a comfortable experience. We integrate comprehensive post-acute treatment services into our resident’s day-to-day living to make the most of their recovery process. These services may include nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, behavior analysis and psychological support services.
Day Treatment Program
Our program is especially designed for each individual and their needs, making Day Treatment our most unique feature at Intellegis. Some of the areas of focus include; social skills, job development support, mobility and transportation training, aquatic therapy, pet therapy, computer skills, wood carving, community relationships, therapeutic activities, cultural event participation, recreation activities, leisure skills development, and participation in spiritual and emotional development.
Neurobehavioral Rehabilitation
We provide a team of rehabilitation and behavioral specialists, including a behavior analyst and a neuropsychiatrist. Our clinical team of experts design a specific, structured program to address the challenging behavior in order to achieve the best results for the resident.
Crisis Support
This service is for recently injured survivors who need more care before going home. These individuals are in a delicate state and receive 2 to 8 hours of 1:1 care to help them transition. Therapists will be invited to work with the survivor in our facility, and then work closely with our already trained Life Care Specialists to follow-up on care directives.
Supported Living
The resident will have assigned hours to work with one of our Traumatic Brain Injury Specialists to accomplish the set goals for each day assigned by our clinical team, to ensure progress and quality of life of the resident.
Respite Support
We also offer temporary services for those families that have emergencies or need to travel, and want to ensure proper care of their loved one.
In the heart of the Salt Lake Valley, we are located near the flagship hospital of Intermountain Healthcare, and within walking distance of Murray City Park where we have access to numerous public and recreational facilities.
Support Group
Now the TBI community has a place for social activities—make new friends and memories by meeting other survivors and caretakers, as well as our friendly staff. Join us for monthly support group activities especially for the TBI Community, and bring your ideas!
