The staff at Intellegis are trained in behavioral interventions using the Mandt system approach. The Mandt system focuses on setting up the environment in advance and using R.A.D.A.R. to anticipate escalated situations before they occur. The most effective way to support resident behavior is to use carefully designed interventions before residents become escalated and as such provide a more humane and compassionate approach to meeting their needs. Staff are required to certify annually under the Mandt system with ongoing training provided at monthly intervals. On those rare occasions when resident behavior becomes aggressive or physical, the staff are trained to use the least amount of interaction necessary to guarantee the safety of the residents and all others who may be involved.
